Iran firmly responds to US threat

Iran has firmly rejected calls from the United States to scale back its uranium enrichment program, despite growing pressure from Washington to abandon its nuclear ambitions.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that uranium enrichment is "not up for discussion", even in light of a recent shift in the U.S. position regarding a potential nuclear deal.

This response marks a further escalation in tensions between the two countries, which have reached new heights following Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

Preliminary talks between the two nations took place last weekend in Oman, a neutral location, but no progress was reported.

While Iran has refused to back down on its nuclear enrichment activities, the foreign minister has not ruled out continued negotiations.

Despite the initial round of dialogue, Tehran has instructed its military to remain on high alert in case of conflict with the United States, especially after Trump warned he would “bomb” Iran if no deal is reached.
