In 2017, German-American entrepreneur Kristina Roth acquired SuperShe Island, a private 8.4-acre island located in the middle of the Baltic Sea, near Raseborg, Finland.

Originally, this piece of land was marketed as a holiday destination exclusively for women, according to the website Ça m’intéresse. Kristina Roth’s aim was to offer women a place to focus on themselves, without male distractions, to recharge and let go of certain (sometimes unconscious) pressures. According to the creator, women—even in spaces entirely dedicated to well-being—continue to be influenced by the presence of men, causing them to pay more attention to their appearance than to their own relaxation.

Wellness-focused activities

Once on SuperShe Island, guests could enjoy wellness-focused and nature-centred activities. Various programmes were available, including meditation and yoga sessions, as well as outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking. Accommodation consisted of four Scandinavian-designed cabins, each equipped with modern amenities, according to Ça m’intéresse. These lodgings were designed to accommodate around a dozen guests, making the experience more intimate and personalised. Finnish saunas, a private beach, a 70m2 yurt for yoga and another for spa treatments also contributed to the unique atmosphere of the place.

For the modest sum of...

A stay on SuperShe Island? The selection process was extremely rigorous. Candidates had to be motivated by a specific set of aspirations and values. Once selected, they could book a week’s stay on SuperShe Island for a total of €4,600 (meals, access to facilities and accommodation included).

SuperShe Island was taken over in 2023 by Deyan Mihov, a maritime transport businessman, who no longer offers these services.
