"If Putin plays with Trump, he'll regret it" (Senator Graham)

American President Donald Trump is still trying to persuade Russian leader Vladimir Putin to come to the negotiating table in order to reach a ceasefire for Ukraine.

Quoted by CBS News, US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham claims that if the Kremlin leader tries to deceive Trump, he'll regret it.

A journalist asked Senator Graham if he had any reason to believe that President Trump would sign a law imposing additional sanctions on Russia, given that Trump has yet to impose serious sanctions on the country.

According to Senator Graham, Donald Trump is probably waiting for the results of the discussions conducted by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.

"I think Trump will speak to Putin this week. You cannot resolve a problem until you have spoken to the person creating the problem. And the problem is Putin. He's a predator for Ukraine and the region as a whole," explained Senator Lindsey Graham.
