Last Tuesday, the Kremlin leader agreed to initiate a partial ceasefire on Ukrainian infrastructure for a period of 30 days.

But when will there be a total ceasefire? As discussions between the Americans and Ukrainians on one side and Americans and Russians on the other conclude, Washington hopes to secure a truce in the coming weeks. The date of 20th April is even mentioned, according to information from the American agency Bloomberg.

No escalation expected

On Saturday, the American President Donald Trump stated that all efforts to stop the escalation in the conflict between Kiev and Moscow were “somewhat under control”. On Sunday, it was the American special envoy Steve Witkoff who expressed his optimism about these new negotiations, stating his belief in the good intentions of the Russian President Vladimir Putin. "I feel he wants peace", Witkoff told Fox News. "I think you're going to see real progress in Saudi Arabia on Monday, particularly on a ceasefire concerning the ships in the Black Sea between the two countries. From there, we'll naturally move towards a total ceasefire".
