Two Tu-22M3 strategic bombers from Russia’s Aerospace Forces have flown over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea in their first patrol mission since the drone attack led by Ukraine.

"The Tu-22M3 strategic bombers from Russia’s Aerospace Forces carried out a scheduled flight in the airspace above the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea," announced the Russian Ministry of Defence on Telegram, sharing a video of the mission.

The bombers were escorted by Su-30SM and Su-27 aircraft from the Russian Aerospace Forces, said the Ministry, adding that the patrol mission lasted more than four hours.

The Ministry also reported that at certain points along the route, "the Russian strategic bombers were tracked by foreign fighter jets".

The Kremlin aims to demonstrate that it will respond to Operation Spiderweb, also showcasing its ability to attack and seriously threaten countries near the Baltic.
