Ukraine needs military assistance from the West in order to repel Moscow. A swift peace is not in sight at present, said German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.
"Peace in Ukraine seems out of reach in the immediate future," said Boris Pistorius
Mr Pistorius announced his intention to ensure Ukraine receives joint military support from the West. "We will ensure that Ukraine continues to benefit from our collective military support," the minister added.
Kaja Kallas, the EU's foreign policy chief, stated that European countries have already allocated more than 23 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine this year, which is more than last year.
Germany has decided to increase its military aid to Ukraine by 3 billion euros this year, bringing the total amount to 7 billion euros.
The total amount of official Berlin support for Ukraine has already reached over 43 billion euros, of which 15 billion euros have been allocated to military needs.
