According to forecasts from Météo France, temperatures are set to rise again in the coming days. Metropolitan France is, in fact, preparing to face its 50th heatwave since 1947.
And it's this weekend, 21st and 22nd June, that the peak is expected.
Already on Thursday, temperatures rose “a notch”, reports Météo France. “Temperatures of 32 to 35°C are expected south of the Loire, and locally up to 37–38°C in the South West.” 27 French departments have already been placed on yellow heatwave alert.
François Gourand, a forecaster at Météo France, quoted in Le Monde, states that this weekend “Very high temperatures (35°C) will spread north of the Loire as far as the Paris region and towards the east.”
A few simple tips
If you are affected by the heatwave, be sure to stay hydrated and cool down as often as possible.
