Former Brazilian football star has just spent a year in prison

Sentenced to nine years for rape, the former Brazilian football star engages in reading club activities in prison, tends the garden, repairs televisions and radios, and his behaviour in the celebrity prison is exemplary.

Robinho, aged 41, was sentenced to nine years in prison for the gang rape of an Albanian woman in Italy in 2013 at a nightclub in Milan. He has just completed his first year in prison in Brazil.

Robinho is incarcerated at the famous Tremembé penitentiary, inside Sao Paulo, where well-known criminals or other celebrities are often held as they're at risk in other institutions due to their social impact.

These days, Brazilian media reports say that his behaviour is exemplary and that his relationships with the other detainees are perfect.

The former footballer resides in an 8-square-metre cell with another inmate, aged 22, in connection with his trial for incitement to suicide or self-harm.

He can only receive visits from his first-degree relatives, namely his parents, children, and wife.
