Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing to reject an American proposal for a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Vladimir Putin said that he supported a truce, but under certain conditions. "Of course, Putin's afraid to tell President (Donald) Trump directly that he wants to continue the war and keep killing Ukrainians," he stated in his daily address to Ukrainians.
"That's why Moscow surrounds the idea of a ceasefire with preconditions such that it will either fail or be postponed as long as possible," stated Mr. Zelensky, who described the situation as a "new attempt at manipulation" by the Kremlin.
The Ukrainian President reaffirmed that Kyiv had accepted the American proposal for a ceasefire across the entire front, which he said could be controlled thanks to the military capabilities of the United States and European countries.
