Donald Trump, when questioned by the New York Post about the Duke of Sussex and his immigration status in the United States, stated that he would not expel Harry from the country. For a rather surprising reason.

“I'm going to leave him alone. He has enough problems with his wife. She's terrible.” declared the White House occupant, referring to the strained relationship between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

In short, the acquisition of Harry's American visa, after moving to California 5 years ago, has been the subject of heated controversy since the American organisation The Heritage Foundation sought to find out if the prince lied about his drug use on his visa application, according to the media outlet 20 Minutes. Indeed, while drug use is grounds for denial, the Duke of Sussex revealed in his autobiography that he had used psychotropics, cannabis, and cocaine in Lesotho, the United Kingdom, and... the United States!

The Character of Meghan in Question

For the American president, it's clear, there's no reason to cause Prince Harry more trouble because of his wife Meghan's character. “Poor Harry is being led by the nose,” says Donald Trump, who hasn't entirely made peace with Meghan who had called him "misogynistic".

In February 2024, in an interview with The Express, the Republican billionaire assured that if he won the election, he wouldn't support the prince who, he believes, has “betrayed the queen”, something he deemed “unforgivable.”
