Elon Musk has spoken out against a new policy pushed by Donald Trump, expressing disappointment over a recently passed spending bill.

Last week, the House of Representatives narrowly approved legislation that includes billions of dollars in tax breaks and a significant increase in defense spending.

In an interview with CBS, the Tesla CEO said he was “disappointed” with the bill, claiming it undermines the president’s goal of reducing government spending.

I was disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly,” Musk said, adding that Trump is only increasing the national deficit with this approach.

The world’s richest man also argued that the legislation undermines the work of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which Musk was appointed to lead under Trump’s administration.

Musk’s remarks come amid growing tensions within the Republican Party over new legislation being pushed through Congress.
