Elon Musk launches his political party 

Elon Musk has announced the creation of his own political party after conducting a poll among his followers on X.

The billionaire and CEO of Tesla asked users on the platform whether they supported the idea of forming a new political movement to challenge the long-standing dominance of the Democratic and Republican parties. The response was overwhelmingly positive.

"By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom," Musk wrote on X on Saturday evening.

Although Musk supported Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential campaign, the two eventually fell out over Musk’s role in the DOGE cryptocurrency project and disagreements about public spending.

Last week, Musk called for Trump’s impeachment after the White House threatened to withdraw federal funding from several of his companies, including Starlink.
