Dog not allowed on plane: owner drowns dog in airport toilet

A 57-year-old woman has been accused of drowning her dog in a toilet at an airport in Florida. She had been told that her schnauzer was not allowed on her flight to Colombia.


The incident took place on 16 December 2024. Alison Lawrence, a 57-year-old woman from Louisiana, drowned her miniature schnauzer in the toilet of an airport in Orlando after being told she could not take the dog with her on her international flight. 


Surveillance footage showed her entering the toilet with the dog and then coming out without the dog. A janitor found the dog's body in a rubbish bin. Lawrence then travelled to Colombia and later Ecuador. 


Last Wednesday, the woman was arrested in Florida on charges of aggravated animal abuse. She was released on bail pending her trial.
