What if our clothes could influence our mood?

"Dopamine dressing" is based on a simple premise: the colours or patterns we wear can boost our production of dopamine, THE famous happiness hormone. Bright and cheerful colours not only brighten up our outfits but can also make us smile.

That pink jacket that's caught your eye for weeks but you've been putting off buying might just be your best investment this summer, you just have to dare! A splash of bright colour and the effect will be immediate.

For example, yellow, orange, and pink are said to have this magical power. What do we have to lose by trying? Improved mood, increased self-confidence and expressing our creativity are in store. Have you ever found your eyes drawn to someone proudly wearing colourful clothes?

For the shy ones, take it easy. An accessory, a pair of shoes, a scarf... Don't hesitate to pair your new purchase with duller outfits from your wardrobe.

The colour red is said to be energising and even performance-enhancing. Blue is said to reduce stress and be calming according to a study by the University of Sussex, while green is said to stimulate creativity.

So, could the best way to stop feeling blue be to dare to wear colour?
