Donald Trump is reportedly considering offering a $10,000 check to every resident of Greenland in an effort to persuade them to join the United States.

Since taking office, the former president has repeatedly expressed his desire to acquire the Arctic territory, citing national and international security concerns. Denmark, which owns Greenland, has firmly stated that the island is not for sale.

According to the New York Times, the proposed payments would effectively replace the $600 million in annual subsidies currently provided by Copenhagen.

However, the people of Greenland have strongly rejected any notion of annexation.

Trump is reportedly eager to secure access to the territory’s vast natural resources, including gold, uranium, copper, and oil.

During a recent visit to the Pituffik Air Base, U.S. Vice President JD Vance criticized what he called Denmark’s "poor management" of the island.
