Putin is ‘playing with fire’ warns Trump as new sanctions loom

Donald Trump has warned that Vladimir Putin is "playing with fire" as the Russian president continues his unrelenting assault on Ukraine.

After previously calling the Russian leader "crazy," the billionaire doubled down on his criticism as peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow remain stalled.

“What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia — and I mean REALLY BAD. He’s playing with fire!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Tuesday.

According to CNN and The Wall Street Journal, the American president is now seriously considering new sanctions against Russia, possibly as soon as this week.

Trump has expressed clear frustration over the lack of progress in peace negotiations between the two warring nations.

Despite a recent phone call between Trump and Putin, Russian offensives across Ukraine have continued unabated.
