Donald Trump has confirmed he does not plan to run for a third term, acknowledging that the U.S. Constitution prohibits any president from serving more than two terms.

In the past, the billionaire had joked about finding a way to run for the White House again beyond two terms, fueling speculation.

"I'll be an eight-year president, I'll be a two-term president. I always thought that was very important," Trump told NBC during an interview recorded at his Florida estate.

Despite his comments, products bearing “Trump 2028” are still being sold by his company, further sparking rumors about a potential third run.

Trump noted that many Americans have urged him to remain in office beyond January 2029.

"So many people want me to do it. It’s something that, to the best of my knowledge, you're not allowed to do. I don't know if that's constitutional that they're not allowing you to do it or anything else," he said.

The 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution clearly states that no person may be elected to the presidency more than twice.
