‘Frustrated’ Trump lashes out at Zelenskyy for choosing ‘wrong direction’

Donald Trump has accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of jeopardizing a near-finalized peace deal, as Washington signals it may accept proposals from the Kremlin—including the recognition of Crimea as a fully integrated Russian territory.

The U.S. President, who is negotiating directly with Moscow, claimed that a peace agreement is "imminent." Vice President JD Vance later clarified that the proposed deal would freeze current territorial lines.

While Ukraine's Western allies have not publicly commented on the potential agreement, Zelenskyy has instead proposed an unconditional ceasefire, rejecting any territorial concessions.

Portions of the draft deal have already been leaked by the Financial Times, revealing that Kyiv remains firmly opposed to ceding Crimea, a region annexed by Russia in 2014.

Recently, several members of the Trump administration—including the president himself—have threatened to withdraw from their role as mediators if both sides fail to make compromises after over three years of war.

Negotiations were held in London on Wednesday between the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Ukraine. However, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio canceled their attendance.
