While Europeans would like Washington to impose more sanctions on Moscow, Donald Trump has once again expressed his disappointment with the positions of both the Russians and the Ukrainians in the search for peace.
During an exchange with journalists at the White House, the American president declared: “I am very disappointed with Russia, but I am also disappointed with Ukraine because I think a deal could have been reached” to end the war, as he believed he could resolve it in only “24 hours”.
For his part, the Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky is determined to persuade Donald Trump, during the G7, taking place from 15 to 17 June in Canada, to sanction the Kremlin for its systematic refusal of a ceasefire.
