A striking item in the web store of the American president immediately catches the eye.
Donald Trump is indeed selling caps on his webshop with the inscription 'Trump 2028'. With this, he seems to be seeking support for his plan to remain president after his second term, even though this is currently not legally permitted in the USA.
For 50 dollars (44 euros) you can get such a unique cap. However, the 22nd Amendment of the United States Constitution states that "no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice". However, Trump has openly hinted several times at a possible constitutional change. He has stated that he wants to run for a third term. "There are ways to do that," the Republican recently assured. To lift the two-term limit, however, the constitution must be amended, which requires a two-thirds majority in Congress. In addition, the constitution must also be ratified by at least 38 of the 50 American states.
A 'mission impossible' or does this cap predict the future?
