"Denuclearisation of North Korea is a dream that will never come true" (Kim Yo-jong)

The sister of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un puts everyone on edge.

Kim Yo-jong emphasises that North Korea will not give up its nuclear arsenal for all the money in the world. Any attempt to persuade North Korea to give up its nuclear arsenal is “nothing but a dream that will never come true”, she said in a statement to the official news agency KNCA.

Japan, South Korea and the US last week issued a statement on the sidelines of the NATO meeting, in which they made it clear they want to denuclearise the Korean Peninsula.

But according to the sister of the North Korean dictator, that appears to be a vain hope. “If anyone talks openly about dismantling nuclear weapons, that is the most hostile denial of sovereignty” of North Korea, she added. “That just exposes the discomfort of the US, Japan and South Korea, who find themselves in a desperate situation where they have to talk about denuclearisation in unison.”
