During its military parade, China unveiled its new arsenal of drones, missiles and engines whose vocation is to demonstrate its capabilities of domination in the Pacific Ocean against American forces.
The parade, presided over by Xi Jinping, brought together more than 10,000 soldiers in Beijing's Tiananmen Square and showcased the latest innovations in China's military arsenal, including nuclear and hypersonic missiles, state-of-the-art drones, fighter jets, as well as new defense systems and laser weapons.
Xi Jinping was accompanied by leaders such as Vladimir Putin (Russia) and Kim Jong-un (North Korea), illustrating China's privileged geopolitical alliances. Several other heads of state from neighboring countries attended the event, also highlighting its diplomatic significance.
This military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of the Sino-Japanese War was a signal to the world, aimed at demonstrating that the "rebirth of the Chinese nation is unstoppable," according to Xi Jinping. In addition to the message of power and modernity, the event also celebrated history and collective memory, emphasising the values of unity and service to the people.
