Born on November 9: Charlotte Cardin, Canada's most fashionable woman

Charlotte Cardin was born in Montreal in 1994. Winter was approaching, Canadian temperatures were dropping and little Charlotte arrived in a family where music had its place. They sang during family meals. 

The young girl learned the xylophone at the age of five, then the piano, before devoting herself to singing. "I could work on something that belonged to me, as if it were an external instrument when it was my heart. I never stopped," she confided years later. 

It was as a model that the young woman was first spotted and quickly made the covers of magazines. Besides the catwalks, she tried her first audition in 2013, for the talent show "La Voix". The casting was a success since the 19-year-old woman reached third place on the show and quickly attracted the sympathy of the public. Garou also falls under her spell and asks her to join him for a duet, "Des vents, des mots". The title is a success and takes Charlotte Cardin to France, on the set of "The Voice" on which Garou is a member of the jury.

In 2016, the young artist signs a contract with a label and releases her first EP, entitled "Big Boy". This first solo success is followed by a second, "Main Girl", which Elton John puts directly on his Spotify list; an endorsement that doesn't go unnoticed and which is confirmed by numerous awards. The year 2016 is definitely memorable for her, since she meets Aliocha Schneider, with whom she has shared her life since. The two lovers recently performed "Ensemble" on the Olympia stage.

2021 sees the release of her first album, "Phoenix". It will be the fourth most listened to in Canada that year, just behind Justin Bieber and The Weeknd's albums. A great feat for the young woman, who seems to have a bright future ahead of her, crowned with four Junos (the equivalent of the Grammys or the Victoires de la Musique in Canada). 

Two years later, "99 Nights" completes her discography. It notably contains a song dedicated to Jim Carrey, in which the singer proposes to marry him. And one day: "I get a call from a hidden number on my phone, I answer and I hear 'Hello Charlotte, this is Jim Carrey' My heart stopped beating. He told me he really liked the song." A dream come true for the one who is now Canada's most fashionable woman.

Before her third album planned in 2026, she already launched "Poursuite" and "Tant pis pour elle" at the end of the summer this year...
