Ben & Jerry want their ice cream company back

A synonym for comfort during a breakup or sheer enjoyment in summer weather; a tub of this brand is found in many people's freezers. But did you know that the original founders of Ben & Jerry's are now fighting to buy back their company?

Unilever acquired the company in 2000 and significantly scaled back the progressive social and political engagement that the company previously stood for. This is a sore point for Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield.

The founders watch in dismay as court documents reveal that Unilever tried to prevent criticism of Donald Trump last month. Disagreements regarding the Israeli issue, have also created bad blood with the original founders. Ben Cohen therefore sees no other option than to try to buy back his company with Jerry Greenfield. He stated this in an interview with the American financial newspaper The Wall Street Journal. However, Unilever states that the ice cream brand is not for sale...
