Belgian royal family in mourning

Domitilla Ruffo di Calabria, a first cousin of King Filip of Belgium and daughter of Queen Paola’s youngest brother Antonello, has unexpectedly passed away on 25 May at her home in Nepi, Italy, shortly after her 60th birthday.

She was active in the theatre world and leaves behind three children: Filippo, Riccardo, and Flavia. The funeral took place in the Italian nature reserve Bosco di Paliano, where her father established Italy’s first bird park and of which she was co-owner.
