Beheaded woman (63) found, son (31) arrested with head on motorway

A gruesome discovery was made in the western Dutch city of Hellevoetsluis.

A local resident of Molenstraat in Hellevoetsluis saw a suspicious trail of blood while walking his dog. He alerted the police, who found the beheaded body of a 63-year-old woman near several homes.

According to De Telegraaf and Algemeen Dagblad, police stopped a car half an hour later on the motorway, with the driver being the 31-year-old son of the murdered woman. Allegedly, the woman's head was found by officers in the car.
