Barely out of the White House, Musk says he's "disappointed" by the US President

After five months at the helm of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), whose mission is to cut federal spending, Elon Musk has resumed leadership of his companies SpaceX, Tesla and X.

On 24 May, the businessman posted on his social media network: "Back to work 24/7"... And as early as the next day, he was already voicing criticism of a domestic policy bill supported by Donald Trump, his former boss, according to L’Indépendant. 

And here's what he said during an exclusive interview broadcast on CBS Sunday Morning magazine: "I was disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit rather than reduces it, and which undermines the work being done by the DOGE team". "I think a bill can be big or beautiful, but I don’t know if it can be both. That’s my personal view", he added. 

Not in line with Trump

These statements seem to run counter to those of the US president, who has defended the bill and even dubbed it the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act". It still needs to be passed by the Senate. According to L’Indépendant, the tax provisions it contains would increase the deficit by $3.8 trillion by 2034, which would undermine efforts made by the DOGE so far.
