Tens of thousands of lollipops and a hefty bill! That's what befell this resident of Kentucky (USA).

Holly LaFavers, an American mother, still cannot believe it. As soon as her back was turned, her 8-year-old son, Liam, ordered no fewer than 70,000 lollipops from the Dum-Dum brand on the famous online marketplace Amazon. The total cost of the transaction? Nearly 4000 dollars, reports AP News.

“He wanted to organise a fair and give out lollipops as prizes,” Holly explained about her son. Once the first 22 boxes were dropped off at her door, Liam's mother wanted to cancel the order... Too late, eight other boxes were already on their way.

An exhausting day

“When I saw the amount on my bank account, I almost fainted,” confessed this astonished mum to AP News. After receiving all the boxes, Holly immediately got in touch with Amazon and her bank. Luckily, some of the lollipops could be returned via the local post office, but obtaining a full refund took several hours of negotiations, noted the media outlet 20 Minutes.

“After an exhausting day of calling the bank and responding to the media, Amazon called me to confirm that they would reimburse me,” she highlighted on social media.
