No, we're not in a science fiction movie. The flying motorcycle has just made its debut in the world of transportation.
The Polish company Volonaut recently shone the spotlight on its new two-wheeler: a single-seater flying motorcycle called the "Airbike."
The futuristic vehicle represents, as the company states on its website, a major advancement in urban air mobility. "The Airbike is a compact, lightweight, and maneuverable means of transportation, capable of traversing tight spaces with ease," Volonaut explains.
An Advanced Flight Computer
The motorcycle, equipped with jet engines, operates via a jet propulsion system. Also made of 3D-printed components and carbon fiber, the Airbike is seven times lighter than a "land" motorcycle. In addition, the device benefits from the assistance of an advanced flight computer, allowing the pilot to control it more easily, even at high speeds.
"This futuristic vehicle is the embodiment of a bold concept often featured in science fiction films—an inspiration that, over time, became the obsession of its creator, entrepreneur, and inventor Tomasz Patan," the company said in a press release.
Selling for €106,000, the "Airbike" can reach speeds of 200km/h and travel up to 40 kilometers on a single charge, according to the media outlet Demotivateur.
