‘They'll come after us’: US senator warns Iran close to ‘assembling six nuclear bombs’

A U.S. Republican senator has warned that Iran is close to "assembling six nuclear bombs," adding that Tehran will eventually target both the United States and Israel.

Senator Lindsey Graham made the comments as tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high over a new nuclear agreement.

Former President Donald Trump has threatened to "bomb" Iran if the Middle Eastern country refuses to come to the negotiating table for a new deal. Tehran, meanwhile, has said it is open to an agreement — but has ruled out direct negotiations with Washington.

"They will kill Israel. They'll come after us," Graham said during an appearance on Fox News.
"They have enough highly enriched uranium to make six bombs. They will use it. Iran is very close to assembling six nuclear bombs," he added.

However, Graham’s statements contradict recent comments made by General Michael Kurilla, head of U.S. Central Command, and intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard, who have both said that Iran has not yet made a decision on whether to pursue nuclear weapons.
