"A three-day ceasefire is absurd"

Keith Kellogg, the special envoy of American President Donald Trump for Ukraine, stated that the ceasefire announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the anniversary of the end of World War II was "absurd".

"A three-day ceasefire is absurd," said Mr. Kellogg during an interview with Fox News, where he emphasised that President Trump wanted "a permanent and complete ceasefire - maritime, air, and land - for a minimum of 30 days", with the possibility of extending it in the future.

"This is where we want to get to," highlighted Trump's special envoy, assuring that it's now up to the Russians to make a gesture, after the Ukrainians have shown their willingness to advance in the negotiations. He explained that during the meeting in London last week, the United States presented Ukraine with a roadmap comprising twenty actions which, although not all to its liking, is now in a "very good position" to move forward.
