Elon Musk has at least 14 children with four different women. Several of those children have extremely unique names. The controversial mogul’s most recent addition is named Seldon Lycurgus.

Elon Musk is a father yet again. The controversial technology mogul has announced the arrival of his 14th child, and the news has undoubtedly turned heads. The baby’s name is especially interesting, but Musk is known for picking some pretty unique names for his offspring.

Elon Musk is the father of at least 14 children, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be running out of baby name ideas anytime soon. He is known for his unique baby name choices, and the name of his newest arrival is no different. Shivon Zilis, the child’s mother, announced the arrival of Seldon Lycurgus on X (formerly Twitter). While the duo didn’t go into detail about the meaning of the name, the Daily Beast suggests it’s a name that makes a statement. According to the outlet, Seldon likely refers to a character in a science fiction novel. Hari Seldon, the possible namesake, was a visionary. The novel series Foundations is also a TV show. The child’s middle name, Lycurgus, likely references the military-focused ancient Greek lawmaker, Lycurgus.

Musk and Zilis, who have a complicated and often mysterious relationship, already shared three children when Seldon arrived. They have similarly interesting names. The couple welcomed twins Strider and Azure in 2021. Their daughter, Arcadia, joined the family in 2024.

Elon Musk has 10 other children, too

While Zilis only has the four children she shares with Musk, her co-parent has at least 10 other children. He has picked unique and interesting names for many of them. The children that Musk shares with musician Grimes are perhaps the most unique. In 2020, they shocked the world when they announced the birth of their son, X Æ A-Xii. At the time, Grimes gave a detailed explanation of the name, which included inspiration from math and aircraft.

The following year, the duo added Exa Dark Sideræl to their family. Later, they had a third child, Techno Mechanicus, although they never announced their arrival. Since their most recent split, Grimes and Musk have had an extremely contentious relationship and have battled over custody.

Musk shares his oldest children with Justine Wilson, whom he was married to from 2000 until 2008. They have six children together, all with largely common names. Their eldest child, Nevada, died in 2002 from SIDS. They later welcomed twins Vivian and Griffin in 2004. Both were given the last name Musk at birth, but Vivian petitioned the court recently for a legal name change. Triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian joined the family before the couple split.

Musk also quietly welcomed a baby with Ashley St. Clair. Musk has not been open about the baby’s arrival, which is believed to be his 13th. He is, however, expected in court to hash out custody details, according to People. St. Clair is keeping her child’s name anonymous.
