Russia still wants total control of Ukraine (V. Skibitsky)
In an interview with RBC-Ukraine, Ukraine's deputy head of defence intelligence, Major General Vadym Skibitskyi, spoke about Russia's plans on the front line, and the tactics and objectives of the Russian army.
The Russian Federation's strategic plans for the war remain unchanged. The objective is the occupation or complete control of Ukraine, mainly to have a "very powerful ally", says Major General Vadym Skibitskyi. At the same time, the Kremlin wants to ensure that Ukraine and its leaders are either pro-Russian or at least neutral.
"To date, the main goal set by the Russian Federation for 2025 is the capture of the entire territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the completion of the tasks of the Russian Federation's so-called ‘special military operation’ and the maintenance of control over the territories that have been occupied - the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions and occupied Crimea," explained the deputy head of the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate.
According to Major General Skibitskyi, the main targets of Russian attacks are critical infrastructures, energy installations, gas transport systems, military installations and defence industry companies.
