‘Russia has systematized the use of dangerous chemical products’ (Kiev General Staff)
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Russians are continuing to use special munitions containing dangerous chemicals against the Ukrainian defence forces.
More than 1,000 attacks have been carried out since the start of the year.
"In addition to conventional firepower, the enemy is using ammunition equipped with dangerous chemicals, such as K-51 and RG-VO, which are riot control weapons that are prohibited to be used as a means of warfare," stresses the General Staff.
In addition, according to the army, there's a significant proportion of ammunition containing dangerous chemical compounds of an unspecified type.
Last December, the radiological, chemical and biological intelligence units of the support forces of the Ukrainian armed forces recorded 434 cases of use of these munitions.
In total, since February 2023, 5389 cases of the use of dangerous chemicals have been recorded.
