Jakob GOAT Ingebrigtsen improves two world records in one race
On the indoor track in Liévin, France, Jakob Ingebrigtsen did not miss his start to the season.
The 24-year-old Norwegian asked and received top pacers and then stormed to a new world record in the mile himself. The Olympic champion in the 5,000m tightened the world record by more than a second Thursday night. The Norwegian phenom made the clock stop after 3'45"14. And with this he also did almost a second better than his own world record in the 1,500m indoor on the way. That new world record now stands at 3'29"63. So two birds with one stone for Ingebrigtsen, who referred to himself in a social media post as the GOAT after the race. (Greatest Of All Time)
